Monsanto: The Crusade of Greed

The word "crusade" comes from a latin word "crux" meaning cross. Historically a crusade was a military expedition to basically enforce religion upon a land. Entire countries were taken in this way with much blood-shed and trauma. Nowadays things are done differently, however the effect is much the same.

Monsanto are a powerful company internationally. Much of what they are doing (if not all) is harmful to you, me and the future of mankind as a whole. Few people realize for example that after Iraq was taken by the USA to "free the people," Order 81 was placed into effect, forcing farmers in Iraq to buy only GM seeds and preventing them from buying or using any other. 

As a result of "Order 81" Iraqi grains that have remained natural for thousands of years may be lost forever as they may even be confiscated and destroyed. 

Now there are two important issues you need to know about. Why? Because they are concerning your human right to choose what you eat and to have your say about the future of the world you live in.  

• Monsanto are currently applying for two GM products to be allowed into New Zealand. This is simply a warm up exercise to open the door to full GM trade including pushing GM seeds into New Zealand. It is not a matter of whether New Zealand (and every other country) will resist; it is simply a matter, in the minds of Monsanto executives, of time, of how long it will take to get there "dead" seeds into New Zealand.
• USA are currently trying to outlaw non-GM labeling of food. In other words to prevent identification of which foods are GM foods and which are not GM foods.

The two foods being applied to enter New Zealand are 1.Genetically Modified Soy Products (Application A1041) and Genetically Modified Corn (Application A1042) both of which have proven harmful in recent tests! The GM soy has shown to harm reproductive ability:  The GM Corn has according to recent research shown indications of harm to liver and kidneys.  

The more people who apply to dispute these applications, the more chance of this being stopped. You can write your disagreement to: 

If you do not know what to say in your letter, just copy and paste the following letter but add your own name and home address at the bottom of the letter. They normally require this to see that it is a bona-fide (genuine) submission. That is all you need to do; and send it!:

Hello! I wish to dispute two applications: A1041 GM Soy and A1042 GM Corn and I furthermore wish to state that I reject ANY importation of GM foods into New Zealand. Both of these products have been recently tested as harmful. The first article I submit is available at: http://english.ruvr.ru/2010/04/16/6524765.html which indicates GM Soy as dangerous to health. 

The second article I submit is available at: http://www.truthout.org/1215091 which indicates harm to liver and kidneys from consuming of GM Corn. Yours Sincerely, (your name and address)

It does not take long to speak out. If you do not speak out you may well be eating GM foods and have little say in the future. Perhaps one day, as your liver and kidneys are giving out, you are unable to conceive children or your own children are unable to bear children, you may then wonder if you really should have done a little more.
